Killian got to spend a lot of time with her Papa Craig and Grandma Janella. She started to cry when Papa Craig first walked in the door to say hi, but we quickly got her picture of Papa that she says hi to all the time. After a minute I think she started to put the two together and warmed right up. The curse of living hundreds of miles away from small children. So to help Killian meet all the new family in May, we will need to start rotating some other family pictures for her to talk to.
Killian loved having so many people to play with and walk around with. I think everyone probably put in a couple miles just walking around the house. She really likes to hold on to your hand and walk from room to room and look at everything there is to play with. After several passes she finally will pick something to play with, but just for a minute. She got lots of new toys, books and clothes. She got a very pretty new Christmas dress that her Grandma Graff made. And it came with a little teddy bear too, but she calls everything a puppy so it's a puppy. Her Aunt Katie sent her some felt food (so cute), which she tried to eat so she a bit angry when she realized it was fake. She loves to have the pasta "rain" down on her. She is trying very hard to blow the pasta noodles off of her hand like Mommy and Daddy, mostly she just spits all over it.
We were lucky to have nice weather so everyone could get into the Quad Cities with no problems. And it meant Tater could stay outside a lot and not be a spaz inside. He is so good with Killian and she loves that dog, but man does that tale hurt when he whips you!
After several days of opening presents and eating endless amounts of food, we decided to relax with my sister and brother-in-law at their house. Well, to be honest they got a Wii and we all wanted to play it! Killian has toys to play with now that her cousin Sam is here. Plus she had her Papa Craig there to spoil her. Sean won the first round of bowling, I got second which just proves that Wii bowling is nothing like real life bowling! We also tried some golf, baseball and tennis. I like the golf and tennis, but the baseball is my new enemy! 13 years of playing slow pitch does not make for good Wii fast pitch timing! Sean and Dave we able to try out the boxing, but they need another nunchuk to fight each other. Sean worked up quite a sweat! He really got into it. Dave had to remind him not to throw the controller into their new TV!
Killian was so exhausted by Sunday that we stayed at home just the three of us and played and napped all day. We hung up our new pictures and played some cards too. I learned I do not have a poker face, nor do I pay attention enough to be good at Texas Holdem'.
Overall Christmas was awesome, exhausting, but awesome! We can't wait for May to be around family and meet some of our new family! Now to think of some New Year resolutions.....
