Brookfield Zoo

On July 5th Sean, Killian and I loaded up the minivan and headed off to meet our friends at the zoo. 10 minutes into the trip I checked my Facebook on my phone and saw that our friends were also loading up their car to head to the Quad Cities to visit us and our small Niabi Zoo! Uh Oh did Paula forget to mention that the zoo I meant was the Brookfield Zoo? Yes, that's right I made a small mistake. But we were able to call them before they left the house and they got to relax while we drove the hour and a half up to meet them. It would have been slightly funny when we passed each other on the interstate!

After getting everything squared away and getting all parties on the same page that I was on (oops), we filled the van some more and head off for the zoo. We got to learn that 3 car seats fit easily into the van, however, adding a 2 more adults in there is slightly difficult (especially when one is pregnant). Killian and Arista thought it was quite funny having John squashed between them.

The Zoo was surprisingly not too busy on the Monday after the 4th. We were able to get around the entire zoo and see lots of animals. We were able to get tickets to watch the Dolphin Show which the girls loved! They were amazed by all the jumping and splashing.

Side-note: we did not plan the matching purple shirts!

Killian loved fish exhibits. She also liked watching the Polar Bear and Grizzly Bear swim around in their pools. While we were visiting the Monkey House the Rain forest Thunderstorm came to the monkeys. Most of the monkeys and Apes just sat where they were completely unfazed, but one Bare-Bottom Baboon was not happy about the rain and went and in the rocks.

A wolf, that did not turn into Jacob.

An adorable sloth!

This ape certainly was chillin'
