Sean and I decided that we needed a quick, easy and *cheap* family vacation this year. We came up with the plan to spend a few days down in Missouri with my dad and step-mom. We went the first week of July and were looking forward to seeing some amazing fireworks. But of course the Midwest weather had other plans. DROUGHT! Since the ground was so dry many counties had a fireworks ban to help ensure there would be no fires. Can you say bummer?
But don't worry we had plenty of other things to keep us busy. I was not the best at taking a lot of pictures but I did get some.
Our first outing we headed down to Branson Landing. They have this amazing shopping center with a water and fire show that runs all day and night. It is right up against a river. There are Duck (car/boat) rides and a paddle wheel boat ride. We decided to save the absurd amount of money they cost and just enjoy the show on the land. The shows are synchronized to different songs. We could have watched those all day. But there was shopping and eating to be done.

We also took trips to Silver Dollar City, A Discovery Center Museum, played in the pool at grandma and grandpas, rode around in the John Deere tractor, and more....but I of course don't have pictures. I did get lots of pictures at the Animal Safari. More on that in Pt. 3!
